Hawlfraint y Goron: Comisiwn Brenhinol Henebion Cymru

  • NPRN: 101450 Pentre Ifan is a Neolithic stone chambered tomb dating from after circa 3,500 BC. Its chamber is formed by a capstone of around 16 tonnes upheld on three uprights about 2.5m high at one end of a cairn some 30 m long. (Reference: CD2005_602_011, 7.9MB)
  • Dolwyddelan Castle NPRN: 95299 The castle consists of two rectangular towers linked by an irregular curtain wall on the highest point of a narrow rocky ridge. Traditionally believed to be the birthplace of Llewelyn ap Iorwerth. (Reference: DI2006_1686, 6.9MB)
  • Harlech Castle NPRN: 93729 The castle is constructed of limestone and granite, with sandstone dressings, of a concentric design, comprising a rectangular, high-walled, inner ward with four round towers at the corners, and a lower-walled outer ward broadly following the same line.   • Carew Cross NPRN: 103458 One of the largest, at 4m high, and finest of the early Christian memorial stones of Wales. The inscription indicates that this is a royal memorial to Maredudd ap Edwin, dated to 1033-1035. (Reference: DI2006_1322, 2.9MB)
  • Margam Castle NPRN: 19291 Margam Castle was built of Pyle ashlar stone in Tudor Gothic style in 1830-1840 by Thomas Hopper. (Reference: DI2005_1151, 9.4MB)
  • Pontcysyllte Aqueduct NPRN: 34410 Designed by Telford and constructed between 1795-1805, the aqueduct over the river Dee has rectangular masonry piers, cast iron arches and carries the waterway in a bolted cast-iron trough set on the masonry piers. (Reference: DI2005_0878, 8.6MB)
  • Kinmel Park, Garden, Bodelwyddan NPRN: 86617 Kinmel has a medium-sized landscape park surrounding the house, which is set prominently within it. It includes woodlands, a farm and a lake. (Reference: GTJ60013, 6.5MB)
